Highland Valley relocating mills

A $70 million construction program will be undertaken by Highland Valley Copper in British Columbia to relocate two mills to a site adjacent to the Lornex Mining milling complex.

The program is expected to be completed late in 1989 and will increase the daily milling rate of the Lornex complex from the current 91,000 tonnes to 131,000 tonnes.

Highland Valley is the partnership formed in 1986 by Cominco Ltd. and Lornex which combined their copper and molybdenum mining and milling assets. Highmont Mining joined the partnership in January of this year.
