Esso Petroleum Canada has reformulated its arox ep rock drill oils to increase the life expectancy of drilling equipment.
The new formula features a special additive to reduce misting, which means customers can expect to waste less product and enjoy cleaner air, the company says.
“By increasing the tackiness of the oil, this additive also helps to protect equipment,” says Kenneth Hildebrant, a company spokesman. “This is especially true in those critical first few seconds after start-up when the danger of bare metal-to-metal contact can be at its most extreme.”
Esso is offering four new grades of arox ep, ranging from a high-viscosity ep 220 to an ep 22 with a pour point of –54.
