50 YEARS AGO –OCTOBER, 1937– Gold Eagle Mill starting soon

Good progress is being made in mill construction at Gold Eagle Gold Mines, The Northern Miner learned on a recent visit to the property in the Red Lake area. Expectations are that the mill should be ready to turn over by the middle of October. Gold Eagle goes into production with ore reserves estimated at about one year’s supply for the mill, with an indicated grade of roughly $12-$13. No positive estimate of actual tonnage and grade has been made because the nature of the ore occurrence does not lend itself to this procedure and because accurate tonnages cannot be estimated until the ore is actually stoped. Reprinted from The Northern Miner, October, 1937.
