Geddes Resources reports it is about three-quarters of the way along in an adit it is driving to explore the gold zone at its Windy Craggy copper-gold-cobalt-zinc project in northwestern British Columbia.
Chairman Geddes Webster says the adit has advanced 4,150 ft of the distance to the mineralized zone, which is expected to be intersected at about 5,600 ft.
He says two diamond drill stations will be established and the definition of the gold zone will begin as the underground headings are extended.
The Windy Craggy deposit has been estimated to contain about 300 million potential tons at a grade of 1.5% copper, 2 lb cobalt, and measurable amounts of silver as well as the gold. The latter was first identified by surface drill hole No 14, which intersected 201 ft averaging 0.3 oz gold per ton.
Webster says concurrent with the underground drill program the adit will be continued on a line drive across the deposit and drifting north and south will be carried out for the projected tunnelling program, totalling 6,700 ft.
Underground sampling programs are expected to start in March.
The Geddes executive says flow- through financing already arranged or under negotiation for the 1987-88 exploration work at Windy Craggy aggregates $17.7 million.
