Mono planning underground work

Mono Gold Mines says that drill indicated and inferred reserves at its Bannockburn project 167 miles northeast of Toronto now stand at 372,154 tons grading 0.395 oz. The reserves are calculated over a four foot mining width to a maximum depth of 350 ft along 1,400 ft of strike. The vein system is still open along strike, to depth, and also to the west, the company notes.

The geology has changed in the western part of the drilled off area where intensely silicified metavolcanic host rocks are accompanied by a quartz vein stockwork. Hole 87-29 drilled in this stockwork returned 0.221 oz gold over 6.3 ft and 0.152 oz across 10 ft. The company believes this quartz stockwork system “could indicate the existence of an intrusive body at depth.”

A stripping program is planned immediately on the main vein system over a length of 1,500 ft. Bulk sampling will be done in preparation for a full underground exploration program, says Mono.
