New reserves estimated by Highland-Crow at Pickle Lk.

Surface exploration on the Pickle Crow gold property controlled by Highland-Crow Resources has enabled the company to recalculate reserves on the property.

Located northeast of Pickle Lake, Ont., the Pickle Crow property hosts proven, probable and possible reserves of 6.5 million tons grading 0.226 oz gold per ton, Highland-Crow says. However, less than 1% of these reserves fall in the proven category.

The majority of the reserves are associated with the southwest iron formation zone which remains open along strike and at depth. Here, Highland-Crow has defined proven reserves of 57,000 tons grading 0.67 oz gold, 1.5 million tons of probable reserves grading 0.23 oz gold and possible reserves of three million tons grading 0.2 oz gold per ton.

Possible reserves were determined in three other zones, the Central, Northeast shear and ABC. These total 450,000 tons grading 0.25 oz gold in the Central, 190,000 tons grading 0.28 oz gold in the Northeast shear and 360,000 tons grading 0.23 oz the ABC zone. The remainder of the total property reserves are confined to the Howell iron formation.

In order to complete an economic feasibility study by mid- 1987, the company has started an underground exploration program. This will include dewatering the underground mine workings to the 7th level (750 ft), underground drilling and bulk sampling.
