Drilling due to start on Thompson- Lundmark NWT gold project

A 14-hole diamond drilling program will be carried out this year on the formerly-producing gold property of Consolidated Thompson-Lundmark Gold Mines at Thompson Lake, N.W.T.

The work will be done by Ardic Exploration and Development Ltd. Inc., a private company based in New York, which has earned a 50% undivided interest in the property, and is operator.

Ardic earned its interest following completion of a 4-year, $678,000 surface exploration program on the property, consisting of detailed mapping, sampling, geophysical, geochemical and other work.

The initial drill program by Ardic will focus on the Kim Vein, which in 1948-49 produced 56,729 tons of ore, grading 0.391 oz gold per ton.

The Kim Vein is believed to have an approximate strike length of 3,500 ft, according to Thompson- Lundmark President Richard Everts. Prior mining operations focused on about 300 lateral ft, with drill intercepts to a depth of approximately 1,200 ft.
