Owl Creek West drilling resumes in the new year

Drilling on the Owl Creek West project will resume after the Christmas break by partners Montreal- listed Syngold Exploration and Kidd Creek Mines. In the meantime the latest round of drill results is being re-assayed and the geology being re-interpretated to establish the orientation of the gold zone. The latest drill results include H13-34A, wedged from hole H13-34. This latter hole caused all the excitement a couple of weeks ago when it returned an average assay of 0.18 oz gold per ton over 173.9 ft, which included a 78.7 ft interval averaging 0.32 oz.

The wedged hole, H13-34A, intersected a 143-ft zone of mineralization within which two separate intervals assayed 0.22 oz over 9.8 ft and 0.11 oz over 15.2 ft. The mineralized zone in this hole is approximately 25 ft above the same zone in hole H13-34.

Despite the presence of economic grade gold mineralization in the wedged hole, the mineralized zone is being re-assayed to verify the over-all gold content of the zone which is lower than anticipated, says Syngold President Barry Simmons.

Hole H13-37 intersected 0.07 oz over 6.6 ft within a well-mineralized zone of 98 ft located 150 ft vertically below hole H13-34. Several occurrences of visible gold were noted in the drill core and the entire mineralized zo ne is being re- assayed.

Drill hole H13-40, located 150 ft to the west of hole 34 and 75 ft above it, intersected 0.06 oz over 17.4 ft and 0.06 oz over 10.2 ft.

Kidd Creek is operator of the Owl Creek West project in the heart of the Timmins mining camp. Syngold can earn a 25% interest by spending $1 million by Feb 28, 1987, and a further 10% interest by spending $400,000 by March 1, 1988.
