Viceroy Resource Corp. says drilling has resumed on the Castle Mountain open pit heap leach gold project southwest of Las Vegas, Nev.
Viceroy says the first complete hole drilled to test the western extension of the Jumbo South deposit had a 105-ft intersection from 130 to 235 ft, averaging 0.081 oz gold per ton.
The hole is located 350 ft west of hole No 117, which had a 245-ft intersection from 160 to 405 ft, at a grade of 0.227 oz gold per ton.
The company says it plans 10 holes to test the western extension of the deposit.
Once the Jumbo South program is completed, drilling will go ahead to test the Oro Belle ore zone at depth, where the average depth of holes drilled is only 200 ft, with 41 out of 50 ending in mineralization.
Four holes, the company says, ended in high grade ore, including 10-ft from 167 to 177 ft at a grade of 0.244 oz gold per ton.
