Court action possibile

Potash producers in Saskatchewan are preparing themselves for the possibility of court action over allegations that they are “dumping” potash onto the market in the U.S.

Sources tell The Northern Miner that on the average the Saskatchewan potash industry has been selling its product south of the border at prices which are about $7 a tonne below the cost of producing the product.

Court action would possibly be filed by U.S. potash producers with which Saskatchewan producers compete.
