Foxpoint fires up Macassa

Foxpoint Resources (FPR-V) has resumed gold production at the Macassa mill in Kirkland Lake, Ont.

On a daily basis, the mill is running through 1,100 tons of tailings from the Lakeshore property. The tailings, about 40,000-60,000 tons in all, have a projected average grade of 0.13 oz. of gold per ton.

The mill will treat ore from known surface deposits, including the Lakeshore crown pillar. Near-surface ore from the existing ramp on the Lakeshore and Wright-Hargreaves properties will also be treated — until September, when underground production from the Macassa mine’s 3835 and 4250 levels gets under way.

Foxpoint plans to produce 50,000-70,000 oz. gold over the next year while carrying out underground exploration.
