Barrick Goldstrike Mines has eliminated 86 jobs at the Betze-Post and Meikle gold mines in Elko, Nev.
The company has replaced a portion of the existing 190-ton-capacity fleet with 330-ton capacity trucks; as a result, fewer operators and mechanics will be required.
Affected employees will receive a severance package and aid in finding a new job, says the Barrick Gold subsidiary.
