SUPPLIERS NEWS ROUNDUP — El-Equip to supply system to Chinese mine

Sudbury, Ont.-based El-Equip has won a tender to provide an underground communications system to the Jinning No. 3 coal mine in China.

With production of 5 million tonnes of coal per year and a life expectancy of 81 years, the mine, owned by Yanzhou Mining Group, will be the largest coal operation in the country. The communications system, including voice and data transmission lines, will be installed throughout 33 km of underground workings and nine development headings.
