A partnership between Tulita Land Corp. and Great Slave Helicopters will create one of the largest aboriginal joint ventures to date in the Northwest Territories.
The company, to be called Sahtu Helicopters and based in Norman Wells, will service the Mackenzie Valley, in the western part of the territory. The deal is structured such that beneficiaries of Tulita Land, a company formed as part of land claims settlements of local aboriginals, will hold a direct interest in the company of up to 51%. Great Slave Helicopters will own the remainder. Other claimant groups have been invited to join the company.
