Activist never studied law (January 11, 1999)

As a longtime reader of The Northern Miner, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the recent editorial “Scaremongering” (T.N.M., Oct. 5-11/98).

To those of you who missed this gem, let me quote a passage: “A scientist in the crowd pointed out that absolute zero could not be achieved because of the laws of organic chemistry. The unabashed activist then declared, in all seriousness, that the laws of organic chemistry must be repealed.”

Since Canada is one of the largest exporting nations in the world, with over one third of those exports coming from resource-based industries, it is hoped that statements such as this will make Canadians think twice about the misleading releases that come from environmentalists of all stripes.
