Australian geology subject of tour

With a focus on Australia’s diverse geology, two field trips will make stops at 16 of the continent’s precious and base metals mines.

Sponsored by the Australian Minerals Foundation (AMF), the tour, entitled “OzTour 99,” will be broken into two sections. The first trip, departing May 9, will stop at the Olympic Dam and Golden Grove deposits, as well as at laterite and sulphide nickel deposits in the southwest.

The second trip will stop at zinc-lead-silver and copper deposits in the east, including the McArthur River and Hellyer deposits.
