Drilling by Birim Goldfields (CDN) on the Dunkwa property in Ghana has extended the length of the Mampon zone by 150 metres.
Another four holes extended the strike length, which remains open in both directions, to 400 metres.
All 14 of the new holes encountered broad intersections grading 1.8-4.5 grams gold per tonne over widths ranging from 10 to 13.3 metres. Three of these intersections had narrower intercepts averaging 7.2 grams over 4 metres, 10.1 grams over 2 metres and 5.3 grams over 3.3 metres. In addition to the drill program at Mampon, two other holes were drilled 500 metres away at the Aboronye showing. Results are still pending.
Elsewhere on the property, field crews are conducting soil geochemistry on gold soil anomalies.
Hemlo Gold Mines (TSE) can earn a 65% interest in the Dunkwa property by spending $7 million over four years.
