Drilling is continuing at the Microonda epithermal gold property in Santa Cruz, Argentina.
Yamana Resources (TSE) has completed reverse-circulation drilling totalling 6,560 metres and has tested five of seven targets.
Yielding the best results was the Trofeo target, where 23 holes intersected a zone varying in width from 25 to 85
metres. The zone hosts anomalous, disseminated gold mineralization grading 0.8 gram gold per tonne, with one hole intersecting 12 metres grading 4.74 grams.
Sampling at the Fleco target returned anomalous gold values from the 300-by-300-metre, silicified zone. Of 37 rock chip samples taken, six returned values ranging from 0.5 to 2.6 grams gold.
The Fleco is at the approximate intersection of two structural trends that host the other mineralized targets. The northwestern structural trend is defined by the Golpe, Torre, Llano and Roto targets, whereas the northeastern trend is coincident with the Trofeo and Quiza targets.
Assay results from the first 29 holes and No. 32 indicate that all but six encountered anomalous gold values equivalent to 10 metres grading more of 0.1 gram gold.
