Alberta-listed Troymin Resources reports that two joint-venture partners have begun exploring two of its properties in Saskatchewan.
Aur Resources has launched a 9-hole, 1,300-metre drill program on Troymin’s 50%-owned Balsam polymetallic property, southwest of Flin Flon, Man. The program, which is expected to cost $190,000, will include a downhole pulse electromagnetic (EM) survey.
Aur also holds a half interest in the property, and Thunderwood Resources (TSE) and Consolidated Abitibi Resources (ME) are each earning 30% of Aur’s interest.
The property hosts a 900-metre-long zone of intensely altered, felsic volcanics with anomalous copper, zinc and gold mineralization. The zone was tested with 30 drill holes, which included intercepts averaging: 3.3% copper and 3.3% zinc, plus 52.5 grams silver and 3.7 grams gold per tonne over 6.5 metres; as well as 1% copper and 4.2% zinc, plus 33.3 grams silver and 1.8 grams gold over 3.9 metres.
Previous pulse EM surveys indicate the mineralized horizon extends an additional 800 metres to the southeast in an area yet to be drilled. Geophysical data suggest the horizon has been folded, and parallel, geophysical conductors (which have not been drilled) may represent the folded horizon.
Meanwhile, in northern Saskatchewan, partner Cameco (TSE) is preparing to begin till sampling on Troymin’s Berven gold project this spring.
Cameco’s initative is based on a regional review of the LaRonge gold belt, which hosts the Berven project and the senior’s Contact lake gold mine.
Contact Lake, which produces 60,000 oz. gold per year, lies in an intrusive-hosted shear zone. And the Berven property hosts several geophysical anomalies that could represent similar, intrusive-hosted shears.
The till sampling is intended to locate potentially economic gold deposits within the Berven Lake pluton.
