Results from grab and drill core samples taken by Exploration Carats from its 59-claim, Eastmain-7 property have caught the eye of Explorations Minieres du Nord (ME), leading to an option agreement.
The property is north of Matagami, Que., and contiguous with and west of an earlier gold discovery made by Eastmain Resources (CDN).
Recently, Exlorations Carats drilled six holes totalling 900 metres. The best intersection averaged 5.35 grams gold per tonne over 1.9 metres, which included 13.05 grams over 0.74 metre.
Previous drill results ranged up to 1.6 grams gold and 1.4% copper over 0.3 metre and 1.3 grams gold over 1 metre. Grab samples ran up to 5.72 grams gold and 2.4% copper.
Minieres du Nord has until the end of March to exercise its option and acquire the property.
