Ten samples were taken in three trenches at the Roberto showing. Highlights from trench 39 include:
— 19.75 grams gold over 10 metres;
— 17.63 grams gold over 7 metres;
— 9.73 grams gold over 12 metres, and;
— 10.8 grams gold per tonne over 9 metres.
These channels were taken along a 30-metre strike length of the showing. About 50 metres along strike northwest of this, three channels were cut. The best result was 16.7 grams gold over 5 metres. Two other channel samples averaged 6.7 grams gold over 6 metres and 7.1 grams gold per tonne over 2 metres.
The rocks exhibit folding, and trenches are being extended to uncover additional outcrop, which should expand the width of the zone, as well as the strike length. The showing has been traced for more than 100 metres.
Additional work will determine if trench 37, which is about 20 metres east of trench 38, is a separate parallel gold-mineralized zone or if it is the same horizon that has been faulted or folded.
Trench 37 has exposed two outcrop areas that were channel-sampled 15 metres apart. The samples terminated at the edge of the outcrops, leaving the mineralization open. The two channels averaged 11.1 grams gold per tonne over 3 metres and 13.2 grams over 2 metres.
Gold mineralization is associated with up to 5% finely disseminated pyrrhotite-arsenopyrite with traces of chalcopyrite, in quartz veinlets and veins, and in their strongly altered and folded sedimentary wallrock.
