Drill results from Los Pinos, a 145-km property southeast of Lima, Peru, have prompted Asarco (NYSE) to expand road construction and test for the potential of using solvent extraction-electrowinning.
Asarco completed a 26-hole program across an 800-metre-wide alteration zone which hosts porphyry-copper-style mineralization.
The drilling returned varying results from 100 metres grading 0.01% copper up to 122 metres grading 0.53%.
Some of the better intersections include 122 metres grading 0.49% copper in Hole LP1, 122 metres grading 0.45% in Hole LP10 and 122 metres grading 0.42% in Hole LP9.
Asarco is earning an interest from Peruvian company Acuarios Minera y Explorada and 20% owner Arequipa (VSE).
