In late September, Glencairn Explorations (ASE) President Kerry Knoll sold off more than half his common share holdings in the company. According to the Ontario Securities Commission’s insider trading report, Knoll sold 425,000 shares privately at 12 cents per share to hold 328,718.
Glencairn and its 45% controlled affiliate Wheaton River Minerals (TSE) are active players in the Kirkland Lake, Ont., diamond rush. Along with Strike Minerals (CDN), the two juniors are testing at least 10 geophysical targets on their properties in the hope of outlining at least one kimberlite pipe. Earlier this year, Ian
McDonald, chairman of Wheaton, bought 2,000 Glencairn shares at 18 cents and 425,000 privately at 12 cents. He sold 225,000 privately at 12 cents to hold 513,435.

Fairfield Minerals (TSE) — Albert Reeve, director, bought 40,000 privately at $1.12 to hold 1,500 directly and 40,000 indirectly.
Golden Star Resources (TSE) — David Fagin, chairman, sold 75,000 privately at $2.85 to hold 263,846 and was granted 495,000 options exercisable at $2.76. Goldteck Mines (TSE) — John Warrington, holder of more than 10%, sold 267,000 privately at 3 cents. He acquired one million shares at the same price, pursuant to a takeover bid, to hold 1.64 million directly and 504,000 indirectly. Antonio Azevedo, director, bought 25,000 at 3 cents and was granted 100,000 options exercisable at 28 cents to hold 25,000 shares and 100,000 options.
Pegasus Gold (TSE) — several officers were granted options exercisable at $14.88.
Rayrock Yellowknife Resources (TSE) — David Hutton, vice-president exploration and development, bought 4,000 at $6.75 and sold the same number at $9.50.
