Strike at Doyon Mine ends

The strike at the Doyon Mine in northwestern Quebec has ended. Doyon is owned by equal partners LAC Minerals (TSE) and Cambior (TSE). The 380 hourly employees, who have been on strike since Feb. 4, voted last night to accept the contract presented during negotiations at the end of February.

The Doyon Mine produced 234,690 oz. of gold in 1989 at $234 an ounce.
