Westfield can earn its interest in the Kash Lake property by spending $400,000 on exploration prior to Aug 1, 1992. It can also elect to increase its interest to 60% by spending $550,000 during the same period.
Located about 100 miles northeast of Sioux Lookout, the Kash Lake property overlies part of the extensive Kashaweogama Lake fault zone which strikes east-west through this area for at least 30 miles.
In the immediate area of the property, the 700-ft wide fault zone is extensively altered with iron carbonate, green micas and silicification, according to Westfield.
Trenching along the fault zone has delineated several promising gold showings and visible gold has been noted.
Later this month, Westfield plans to test the fault at broad intervals via 3,000 ft of drilling.
