In the article entitled “In the light of Pac-Corona suit plan your site visit carefully,” appearing on page B1 of the March 7 edition, there was attributed to me a comment to the effect that “if you receive an unsolicited invitation to visit a property, return it to the sender immediately.”
In fact, what I advised during the Canadian Bar Association seminar was that if you receive an unsolicited invitation containing confidential information, then you should consider returning it immediately to the sender and confirming that the materials have not been reviewed or copied. There would be no reason for returning a simple invitation to visit a property.
It would be appreciated if this could be clarified to your readers. I certainly do not intend to suggest that the exploration industry close its doors and go into hibernation. Karl J. C. Harries Fasken & Calvin barristers and solicitors Toronto, Ont.
