Noramco companies active exploring near Fort Hope

A group of companies within the Noramco Mining Corp. fold have reported encouraging drill resaults from their properties near Fort Hope, Ont. At the Cadman Lake project, shared equally by partners Pure Gold Resources and Golden News Resources, drill hole 26 intersected 4.6 ft grading 0.61 oz gold per ton and 5.3 ft assaying 0.25 oz.

Hole 19, spotted 165 ft east of hole 26, intersected four narrow sections ranging from 0.042-0.125 oz. Another hole has been completed, 165 ft east of No. 19. Assay results are expected shortly.

At the Keezhik Lake project, which is adjacent to the Cadman Lake property, Severide Resources and Pure Gold are exploring seven zones. On the KL-18 zone, three holes intersected several wide sections of low grade mineralization. These include 21 ft grading 0.08 oz and 34.8 ft assaying 0.05 oz. The highest assay came from a 6.6-ft section grading 0.36 oz.

Additional drilling is in progress testing three main zones and four other zones which are characterized by anomalous gold values. The most promising gold values are associated with altered quartz- feldspar porphyry and silicified shear zones.

Several strong holes were also drilled on the Opikeigan Lake property, near Fort Hope. Partners Golden Lake Resources and Pure Gold completed a hole in the H-12 zone which intersected two sections grading 0.22 and 0.83 oz across 19.7 ft and 4.9 ft respectively. Approximately 2,300 ft west of the zone, drilling has encountered wide spread low grade gold mineralization in the H-29 zone. These results include 56.4 ft grading 0.04 oz and 4.9 ft assaying 0.147 oz.
