Letters to the Editor Beep Mar proves its worth

Contrary to what was written in The Northern Miner’s issue of Dec 14, (`Beep Mat’ put in the spotlight by new exploration company) there are today less than a dozen geologists and/or prospectors who have pulled the Beep Mat. And yet, through 600 man-days of demonstration, mostly on companies’ ground in Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland, we have discovered over 300 virgin sulphide-bearing outcrops, some 4-ft deep, and many of which carried substantial gold, silver, copper and zinc values.

It is evident for anyone looking at road cuts for example along Highway 401 between Toronto and Montreal, that generally the fresh bedrock is within two feet of surface almost anywhere in the hilly areas of Canada. Even in areas where one has to walk 10 days to hear a “sulphide” beep, it will almost cost one hundred times less to sample that sulphide outcrop than to find one with geophysics and a diamond drill hole. In selected areas we hope to find a new showing every second day.

Anyone can rent or buy our Beep Mat and pull it himself, but we hope, with the support of the public, to hire 100 woodsmen, to pull the Beep Mats. They may walk 40,000 miles in 100 days in selected areas and cover, at quarter-mile intervals, not 20% but an area equal to all of the hilly mining claims of Quebec and Ontario combined. We expect to blast and pit 4,000 virgin sulphide showings, or more than all the wildcat drill holes across Canada in 1987. With some luck, we may walk over a new Sudbury, Cobalt or Sullivan mining camp and stake a portion of it.

But we cannot do it without a grubstake from many of your readers. Edwin Gaucher President Explorateurs-Innovateurs de Quebec Sainte-Foy, Que.
