The seminar, chaired by Dr E. Moore, Associate Dean of Engineering at Memorial University in St. John’s, Nfld., will deal with respiratory hazards in mining and familiarize participants with recent developments in protecting respiratory health.
The event is sponsored by the Ontario Respiratory Care Society, the Mining Association of Canada, and the Technical University of Nova Scotia.
Some program topics include: Identification and assessment of lung respiratory hazards; Progress in ventilation, dust control, and dust supression; Lung hazards from silica, coal, asbestos and radiation; Social and legal implications.
