Graphite play viable Stewart Lake says

A prefeasibility study for the Kirkham graphite deposit north of Kingston, Ont., has been completed, Stewart Lake Resources (TSE) says. The study, completed by Kilborn Ltd., a consulting engineering company, concludes that a viable mining operation is possible and suggests that a detailed feasibility study be completed.

The prefeasibility study was modelled on a 300-350-ton-per-day operation capable of producing 12,000-14,000 tons of graphite concentrate per year. Kilborn will complete the feasibility study by year end, Stewart Lake says.

Pending the receipt of a positive feasibility study, the company expects to make a production decision early next year.
