There were three big prize winners at the recent Country Fun Fair of the Women’s Association of the Mining Industry of Canada. More than 550 people (not counting innumerable children) braved some drizzle to enjoy the event, which included barbecues, corn, games, gold panning, and a tug-of-war.
First prize in the raffle held at the fair, a 52 mg-td replica, was won by Darnella Armitage, of Marathon, Ont. Second prize, a bronze sculpture named The Driller, was won by Patrick Sheridan of Toronto, and the third prize, a 1-oz platinum coin went to Jack Mitchell, of Mississauga.
