CMHF calls for nominations

The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame’s (CMHF) board of directors has issued its annual call for nominations.

The next group of inductees will be honoured at a ceremony in January 2003. Their names will be added to the 106 members who have been inducted since the Hall’s inception in 1989.

Nominations of persons who have made an outstanding contribution to Canadian mining can be made by individuals, firms and organizations. They must be channeled through organizations that sponsor the CMHF.

Sponsors include the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, The Northern Miner, and the Mining Association of Canada.

Associates include some provincial and territorial mining associations and other mining-related organizations.

Nominations must include the information described in the CMHF’s guidelines for nominations. These guidelines and the criteria for selection are available from sponsors and associates. Nominations must be made by July 30.

For further information, contact John Cooke, chairman of the CMHF and former publisher of The Northern Miner, at (905) 339-0898.
