St Andrew hits high-grade mineralization

Junior St Andrew Goldfields (SAS-T) has completed a program of wedge drilling at its Taylor gold property in the Matheson area of northeastern Ontario.

The program’s purpose was to test the continuity of the main horizon in the property’s West Porphyry zone.

Nine holes were drilled off of holes SAT-80, 112 and 163, with each targeted to test the horizon at between 12.1 and 36.6 metres from the original intersections. All holes hit their mark, with one also intersecting 1.5 metres of 39.43 grams per tonne in the overlying Upper zone.

Gold values ranged from 2.7 grams gold over 0.7 metre in hole 80-W3 to 163 grams gold (uncut) over 7 metres in hole 163-W2. Many of the intersections contained visible gold, St Andrew reports.

Some of the highlights include:

* 3 metres (446-449 metres) grading 10.1 grams gold and 7 metres (456-463 metres) grading 20.57 grams in hole 163-W2;

* 10 metres (446.5-456.5 metres) averaging 10.9 grams gold in hole 163-W3, which is nearly equivalent to the results from the original hole; * 11.8 metres (429.1-440.9 metres) grading 24 grams gold in hole 112-W1; * 3 metres (440.5-443.5 metres) grading 6.6 grams gold in hole 112-W3; and * 3 metres (459-462 metres) grading 7.8 grams gold in hole 80-W1.

A few holes were reported to have hit more than one gold-bearing interval.

As well, some intersections included narrow higher-grade subzones.

At last report, the West Porphyry zone hosted a resource of 1.32 million tonnes grading 9.6 grams gold.
