Mill construction at the Ray copper mine expansion in Arizona has been temporarily suspended pending the resolution of an issue related to permitting at the site, Asarco (NYSE) reports. The company says it is in discussions with state and federal environmental protection agencies and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regarding the best location for a mine tailings disposal site.
