Preparations for production are under way at the Daisy gold mine in Nevada.
Inter-Rock Gold (IRO-T) reports that its mining contractor is constructing haul roads and lining the leach pads for the open-pit mine, which is scheduled to start up in the first quarter of 1997.
With minable reserves of 11.9 million tons grading 0.018 oz. gold per ton, Daisy is expected to yield 30,000 oz. per year for partners Inter-Rock and Rayrock Yellowknife Resources (RAY-T).
Inter-Rock’s 65% share of the annual production will amount to 19,500 oz., with Rayrock claiming the remainder.
Inter-Rock has completed the first phase of a drill program to define additional reserves on the 13.7-sq.-mile property. Assays are expected before the end of September, and a new program will begin in October.
