With an additional $408,000 in its coffers, Band-Ore Resources (CDN) plans to explore three properties in northern Ontario and Quebec.
The bulk of the funds, raised in a flow-through share financing, will be applied to the Thorne gold property near Timmins, Ont. The property is underlain by a 6-mile stretch of the prolific Destor Porcupine fault, which is virtually untested.
The work will attempt to prove up the Kapika zone, which is potentially minable by open-pit methods. The structure is estimated to hold 300,000 tons averaging 0.074 oz. gold per ton.
Proceeds also will be used to explore the Schist Lake property in Yeo Twp., southwest of Timmins, and the Cameron Shear property in Dejardins Twp., Que. Drilling is to begin on both locations in late January or early February.
