Copper association boosts membership

The International Copper Association, based in New York, recently boosted its membership to 30 producers and nine fabricator associate members representing 17 countries with the addition of three new members and two associate members. Elected chairman at the association’s recent board of directors meeting was Douglas Yearley, chairman of Phelps Dodge. Representatives of four Canadian-based copper producers sit on the board: John Gillies of Falconbridge Ltd., Poul Hansen of Highland Valley, Neil Kemp of Inco Ltd. and David Goldman of Noranda Inc.
