U.S.REPORT Coeur d’Alene earnings slide

A decline in silver prices and lower gold and silver production reduced the net earnings of Coeur d’Alene Mines (NASDAQ) during its latest quarter ended June 30. The Idaho-based company reported net income of US$707,000 or 7 cents per share on total revenues of US$13.1 million for the period, compared with net income of US$2.5 million or 25 cents per share on total revenues of US$18.3 million for the same period a year earlier.

Net income for the first six months of 1990 totalled US$3.1 million, or 32 cents per share, on total revenues of US$27.5 million. The company reported net income of US$3.2 million or 32 cents per share on total revenues of US$32.3 million in the 1989 first half.

Coeur d’Alene Mines produced 27,593 oz. gold and 2.48 million oz. silver in its 1990 first half, compared with 34,954 oz. gold and 2.58 million oz. silver in the 1989 first half.
