A new minister for mines for Quebec has been named following a cabinet shuffle by Premier Robert Bourassa. Deputy premier Lise Bacon has assumed direct responsibility for the mines portfolio under her energy and resources ministry. Raymond Savoie, who served as the minister responsible for mines since 1985, has been named revenue minister in the new Bourassa cabinet.
Savoie served as mines minister through the exciting flow-through years during the latter part of the last decade.
