Junior Claimstaker Resources (VSE) has re-opened the underground workings at the Alwin copper mine, southwest of Kamloops, B.C.
Exploration work will consist of driving a raise to surface from the existing workings, along the No. 4 North zone. As part of a preliminary feasibility study, the company will attempt to confirm grade and provide material for metallurgical testing.
When the mine was closed in 1981, the No. 4 North orebody contained diluted minable reserves estimated at 430,000 tons averaging 2.5% copper.
