The low-cost Golden Giant mine of Hemlo Gold Mines (TSE) on the north shore of Lake Superior continues to perform well. The company reports third-quarter gold output of 118,110 oz. (about the same as last year) at an average operating cost of US$108 per oz. Golden Giant’s 9-month production this year totals almost 339,000 oz.
