OBITUARIES (July 23, 1990)

George Neumann died recently at his residence in Arnprior, Ont. He was 74. In 1940, Neumann graduated from Queens University with a 0000,0600 B.Sc. degree in metallurgical engineering. After a stint in Nicaragua, he worked for Sigma Mines and other companies in northern Quebec, and then spent a year at Lakefield Research Ltd.

Neumann moved to Mexico in 1948, where he worked for 13 years. Afterwards, he joined the Inter- American Development Bank in Bolivia and stayed for two years before returning to Canada in 1963.

At Brunswick Mining and Smelting Ltd., Neumann held various positions. He became assistant manager in 1975, a position he kept until he retired in 1981.
