Trenching on the Aztec project, 70% of which is owned by Skyline Gold (TSE), has outlined three high-grade copper-zinc-silver zones for reconnaissance drilling this summer.
Nine trenches were completed on the northern Mexican property for a total of 810 metres.
Trenching on Zone A revealed a 26.3×110-metre area grading 0.36% copper, 1.28% zinc and 25 grams silver per tonne.
On Zone B, about 535 metres to the northwest, a steeply dipping shear zone was tested over a 70-metre strike length, returning an average grade of 2.24% copper, 2.54% lead, 1.81% zinc and 230 grams silver.
The B zone ranged up to 4.5 metres in width and remains open in both directions along strike.
In Zone C, about 635 metres northwest of Zone A, a series of mineralized northeast-trending shear zones and mafic dykes was encountered. Sampling over a 25×55-metre area returned an average grade of 0.42% copper, 2.92% zinc and 76 grams silver.
