Orvana drilling

Drills are turning at the Butte Highlands gold property, 15 miles south of Butte, Mont.

Orvana Minerals (TSE) hopes to expand the resource in the Nevin Hill area from the previous preliminary estimate of about 500,000 tons grading 0.47 oz. gold per ton.

The drilling will attempt to expand the zone downdip and along strike. Plans include 13 rotary drill holes in two tiers, one to about 800 ft. below surface and the other to a depth of about 1,100 ft.

Hole spacing in the tiers will be about 100 ft. and several rotary holes will be completed using diamond drilling to test the mineralized zone. The program will cost about US$300,000.

Orvana can acquire the property from Butte Highlands Mining for US$2 million, up to November, 1998.
