With an initial phase of drilling now complete, Formation Capital (VSE) recently began a second phase at its Black Pine property near Salmon, Idaho.
It has also staked additional claims surrounding the property to cover possible extensions of mineralization encountered to date.
The first phase totaled 6,100 ft. and tested about 1,700 ft. of strike length along a potentially large stratabound copper-gold-cobalt exhalative massive sulphide system. The drilling returned narrow, higher-grade intervals within a wider, lower-grade zone.
One of the better holes, BP-34-14, returned a 125-ft. intersection from 218 ft. to 343 ft. grading 0.8% copper, 0.01% cobalt, 0.006 oz. gold and 0.1 oz. silver per ton.
The hole included a 9.75-ft. interval from 296.75 to 306.5 ft. grading 9.42% copper, 0.02% cobalt, 0.023 oz. gold and 1.02 oz. silver.
Formation’s second phase will total 6,000 to 10,000 ft. and will test an additional 4,000 ft. of strike length along the favorable stratigraphy.
