Drilling enhances La Trinidad

Toronto-listed Eldorado continues to enhance the overall potential of La Trinidad, a joint venture in Mexico’s Sinaloa state. The junior is earning a 51% interest in the gold property from Almaden Resources (VSE).

During the first phase of drilling, a gold discovery in the Colinas zone led to a decision to continue exploration with a 10,000-ft., second-phase program. The discovery hole intersected 32.8 ft. of 0.08 oz. gold per ton. The work is aimed at testing a half-mile-long geochemical anomaly between the south end of the Taunas deposit (where Hole 93 intersected 91.84 ft. of 0.078 oz.) and the discovery hole in the Colinas zone.

Additional drilling will be carried out for development purposes. This will include infill drilling to upgrade the Taunas zone resource to a minable reserve, core drilling for metallurgical purposes and condemnation drilling of proposed plant and pad sites. The Taunas zone reportedly contains 1 million tons grading 0.081 oz.

Recent results from Taunas include 91.84 ft. grading 0.078 oz. from 91.84-183.68 ft., which includes 26.24 ft. of 0.136 oz. from 91.84-118.08 ft. Results from other holes are: 13.12 ft. of 0.083 oz.; 45.92 ft. of 0.066 oz.; 26.24 ft. of 0.05 oz.; and 26.24 ft. of 0.047 oz.

Current exploration and development work at La Trinidad is budgeted at US$500,000. Eldorado said positive results will lead to continually “aggressive development with additional drilling and economic studies.”
