Recent results from a 12-hole program on the Reed-Belanger property near Thetford Mines, Que., indicate the presence of a high-grade chromite pocket within the mineralized zone.
Drilling along strike of previous encouraging intersections, Canchrome Mines (ME) hit a 16.3-metre interval grading 30.15% Cr2O3 at a vertical depth of 127 metres. However, three holes collared to intersect eastern extensions of the zone under Lake Caribou failed to intersect any significant mineralization.
The results will form the basis for a new reserve calculation, Canchrome says. Preliminary reserves currently stand at 3.65 million tonnes grading 6.3%, including 2.32 million tonnes in the probable category.
