Rea reviews Bissett mining potential

With the gold market having picked up, Rea Gold (TSE) is assessing the former-producing Bissett property in Manitoba.

Kilborn Western and Tonto Mining will assist in the pre-feasibility study, the focus of which will be on increasing productivity and reducing operating costs by improving access and implementing modern mining methods. The mine operated continually from 1932 to 1968, producing 1.4 million oz. gold from 4.9 million tons of ore. A 500-ton-per-day mill was built on the property in 1982.

Previous estimates put minable reserves at 1.5 million tons grading 0.22 oz. gold per ton. About 1.2 million tons are below 4,000 ft., with the remainder between that level and surface.
