The Sudbury, Ont., plant of Dyno Nobel has become the first explosives facility in North America to meet the ISO 9000 standard.
The ISO 9000 quality control standards were developed by the International Organization for Standardization in 1987. To achieve certification, companies must attain and maintain a standard which ensures that goods or services provide ongoing customer satisfaction.
To qualify, Dyno Nobel implemented a 27-stage plan in June, 1992, which continued through to October of this year. The company received its certificate at a ceremony in Sudbury.
