Litigation related to claims staked in the Benoit Twp. area of Quebec has in large part been resolved.
Freewest Resources (TSE) and Ressources Minieres Canaco (ME) say Ressources Minieres Forbex (ME) has withdrawn its petition in
revocation of its township claims, and has also withdrawn its appeal against a decision
of Quebec’s minister of mines which had, among other
considerations, turned down Forbex’s application for recording claims staked by it over the claims of Freewest and Canaco.
Freewest says its lawsuit against Forbex and Laurent Halle has been settled out of court, and it has with-drawn its appeal against the minister’s decision which cancelled 22 of its claims under dispute.
The net result of the withdrawals of the appeals, Freewest said, is to leave intact 39 claims of Freewest and six claims of Canaco which had been disputed by Forbex.
Canaco says it has withdrawn its lawsuit against Forbex and Halle, leaving its lawsuit pending against another director of Forbex. Canaco says it has also agreed to grant an interest to Forbex in some claims optioned to Freewest and Lyon Lake Mines.
